Storywalk ® - A Few Beautiful Minutes by Kate Fox along the garden fence.

Apr 6th, 10am - 11am. Scott Turnbull of the Vermont Astronomy Society at Memorial Hall.

This talk explains how a solar eclipse happens and, more importantly how to safely view one. A video of a previous total solar eclipse will be presented so that you will know what to expect on the big day. Eclipse glasses will be distributed to participants at the end of the program (while supplies last).

Apr 8th Update

The Library and other municipal buildings will now be closed the afternoon of April 8th. Due to the closing, the Library's eclipse viewing event will not take place.

After the Eclipse

We have partnered with Chittenden Solid Waste District and Astronomers Without Borders to collect solar eclipse glasses in order to divert them from the landfill and redistribute them to communities worldwide.  Bring your solar glasses to our collection bin in the main lobby from April 8th - April 11th, so that these glasses can be reused for future eclipses!
